The RESPONSIVE ENVIRONMENTS project is started as the doctoral research of Jorge Alves Lino, supervised by Benjamin Salem and promoted by Matthias Rauterberg. This projected is being conducted within the Department of Industrial Design of the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e).

Started in March 2008, in a combination between Jorge's involvement as a university lecturer, and as design researcher within the Designed Intelligence Research Group, the project grew to integrate design projects developed within the Bachelor of Industrial Design with the conducted research.
